HOW MUCH CBD SHOULD I TAKE?
There is no “standard” dosage. CBD products come in all sorts of delivery systems… tinctures, gel caps, creams, balms, etc… So each delivery system will be processed by your body at a various rate and efficacy.
With that said, it is common practice to recommend using the least amount of CBD you need to achieve the desired effect. This would be easiest using a tincture, which comes with a dropper so you can gradually increase your dose until you reach the desired effect.
If you’re not comfortable using a tincture, or simply do not like the sensation of oil under your tongue, using a low dose gel cap can be a great way to get started.
We’ve seen clients use as little as a few milligrams per day, and others needing to use up to 100mg per day to achieve their desired effect.
There is no need to take more than necessary, and in some cases, clients have reported a negative effect from taking too much (increased anxiety or insomnia).
HOW LONG WILL CBD TAKE TO BE EFFECTIVE?
That’s a very personalized answer.
If you find your correct dosage, you may see results in just 1-3 days for some symptoms (such as muscle soreness or pain). Some products, such as our Muscle & Joint Relief rub can have a positive localized benefit within 30 minutes.
But for other products and use, plan on taking CBD as long as it takes to find your correct dosage, and then continue to take it continually for maximum benefit.
Please note, for maximum benefit CBD is not to be used sporadically, as you may take an aspirin or other NSAIDS.
WILL I GET HIGH FROM CBD?
No. You will not get high from taking CBD products that are free of THC, like Gold Medal CBD. Cannabidiol (CBD) is the non-psychoactive component of canabis sativa (marijuana and industrial hemp). CBD works to help with anxiety, stress, inflammation, and pain via receptors in your body through a system known as the Endocannabinoid system. So CBD can relax you, but will not make you high. IS BROAD SPECTRUM CBD BETTER THAN CBD ISOLATE?
Our broad spectrum hemp oil includes all of the cannabinoids found in hemp, except THC. CBD isolate removes all other compounds in the plant, and is just CBD. A 2015 study showed broad spectrum CBD offering increased ability to provide greater levels of relief versus CBD isolate.
Gold Medal CBD is an organically-grown, zero THC, broad-spectrum hemp-based, pharmaceutical grade CBD oil.

CAN I TAKE ORAL AND TOPICAL CBD AT THE SAME TIME?
Oral administration, passes either through the mucous membranes of the mouth (tincture, sublingual) or through the digestive system to be processes by the liver. Topical administration does not pass into the blood stream. It interacts directly with the cannabinoid receptors in and beneath the skin.
You are not adding to your daily oral dosage by using a topical CBD cream/salve.
IS CBD SOURCED FROM HEMP BETTER THAN CBD FROM MARIJUANA?
The short answer is no. CBD is an isolated compound which chemically is exactly the same.
However, CBD that is not sold as an isolate can very greatly from marijuana to hemp and have a different effect on each individual. Broad-spectrum CBD oil includes virtually all of the terpenes and other phytocannabinoids found in either the hemp or marijuana plant. As such, it’s these various compounds that are also retained in the end product that can make for a different experience in each person. The CBD found in marijuana will have slightly different compounds and will be in varying concentrations versus that found in hemp.
The phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil used to make Gold Medal CBD products are very low in naturally occurring THC. They have roughly 0.3% concentration of THC PRIOR TO IT BEING EXTRACTED FROM OUR FINAL PRODUCT.
Gold Medal CBD products contain all of the other beneficial compounds found in the industrial hemp plant, but none of the psychoactive THC.
IS CBD SAFE FOR CHILDREN?
There is no harm associated with taking CBD, and the substance is safe to be used on children.
In December 2017, the World Health Organization made it official. After conducting its own research into CBD, the WHO stated it found no adverse health risks to using the cannabinoid.
Here’s what the WHO stated in their study:
“To date, there is no evidence of the recreational use of CBD or any public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD,”
